QUOTES

To have found God and still pursue Him is the soul's paradox of love.

~A.W. Tozer~

We need to be good witnesses by showing the love of Christ to our neighbors. The love of God is selfless, giving love, not self-seeking, and is never self-centered. The Christian life is not just sitting in the pew each Sunday. As believers study, we become equipped to share with others. We need to learn it in the classroom and take it out to the world. We become His messengers.

"When you are told that science has disproved the Bible, ask specifically where such is the case. True science and a true understanding of the Bible are never at variance." -

Billy Graham.

If God calls you to it, He will empower you to do it and do it sweetly! ~

We may feel we need to go to someone and “set them straight,” but we need to make sure we’re straight ourselves…. about our attitudes and the goal, which is always to restore, in love and gentleness, our brother or sister.

Should we leave this world unforgiven, it will be a dire event.

~J.I. Packer~

Are you persuaded in your heart that nothing can separate you from God? Seriously, in truth, there is only one thing that separates us from God and that is sin: But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you So that He will not hear. Where do you stand? Separated from God because of your sin, or inseparable from God because you have placed your trust in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sin?

We have to make time to pray! Even if our prayer time gets derailed, again and again, we can’t quit; we need to keep fighting for private prayer. Jesus made getting alone in prayer with the Father a priority and so should we!

Do not become a nominal Christian who is mediocre in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Choose to be a Christian who is fully submitted to the Lordship of Christ, and build your life on a sure foundation––Christ.

Isn’t God so cool?! He’s amazingly creative. Isn’t it awesome how He designed every creature on land and in the sea including you? He cares about you! ~

The Christian life is a walk. It is comprised of day-by-day steps from where we are to where the Lord wants us to go (both spiritually and geographically). This walk is undertaken by faith, not by sight.

We must walk by faith, by depending upon our Lord, His word, and the work of grace by His Holy Spirit. Spiritual progress is made "while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen."

In order to grow in grace, we must live by faith. "Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace" (Romans 4:16). We cannot progress spiritually by the use of our natural, Adamic faculties. We must walk by faith in the Lord and His word.

When we properly understand the concept and reality of His grace, peace will surely follow.

Therefore, it is vital that we understand where we must go for the source of our faith: "Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2). Jesus is the source of faith. The Scriptures often expound upon this fundamental truth.

We can't be "more" holy no matter how hard we might try, because holiness is not based on the merit system.

Bible study is the metal that forges a Christian.

~C.H. Spurgeon~

We cannot base experience as doctrine. Otherwise, there is a danger of anybody preaching what they want to preach and there is no context to the text. Everything has to be biblically based. We need good exposition. Was this taught by the prophet? Did Jesus teach it? Do we find it written in the Gospels and in Epistles? The Apostle Paul warned us about people who beautiful, fair speech deceives the simple. They easily twist and turn the scriptures:

If I am in Christ, it is because God took me out of the world and gave me to Christ.

R.C. Sproul

if he should continue to give you the mercies of this life every day just as he has done, I think, dear friend, that it ought to trouble you all the more that you are still provoking him by your continued sin.” - Charles Spurgeon

We can never go to Jesus too often.

Charles Spurgeon

Let us not linger, but at once return unto the Lord from whom we have gone astray. -

Charles Spurgeon

"In the new and better Eden of the redeemed, a second fall or a second expulsion is an eternal impossibility." -

Robert Macdonald of Blairgowrie.

If you wish to stand firm in the midst of suffering, forewarn yourself of this fact: temptation is never stronger than when relief seems to dress in the very sin that Satan is suggesting. —William Gurnall, The Christian in Complete Armour, 1:84
