“Depend upon it, my hearer, you never will go to heaven unless you are prepared to worship Jesus Christ as God.”

~C.H. Spurgeon~

Dwight L. Moody, the great evangelist, preached on many subjects, but according to his biography, “He had one central message to share with people: Men and women are all created to be friends and lovers of God. We are made for no other end. Until we realize this we will live lives of turmoil, confusion, and even desperation.”

We are made to live on a heavenly course, being drawn closer and closer to our God.

I don’t like suffering. Nor am I called to seek it. But when we bend over backward to avoid it and value comfort over commitment, we’re not acting like Christ’s disciples.

Randy Alcorn

God often goes to the gutter to find the recipient for His grace. He lifts him out, washes him, and transforms him - making him into a child of God fit for His kingdom. That is God’s grace.

~Chuck Smith~

Jesus’ message couldn’t be realized until He died. Nor can we realize the beauty of our lives without accepting death. Resurrection — change — doesn’t happen without it.

“We cannot become so satisfied with earth, that we are content to do without heaven.”

Perfect people don’t exist, but pretty freaking good ones do. They’re out there. You can lose a lot of things, but hope isn’t one of them.

To be converted to faith in Jesus Christ is to return to the worship of the true God, and to dethrone all rivals to his authority.

“You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving.” —

Amy Carmichael

There is no reason to live afraid.

There will be times when the last thing you want to do is hear

that you have to keep going. The last thing you will want to do is feel

you have to keep pushing. Let the breaths leaving your body second by second remind you

how seconds soon turn into minutes, and these minutes soon turn into hours and hours

then turn into days, and even though you once thought

you were stagnant, you have made it a miraculously long way through the darkness.

from All Along You Were Blooming by Morgan Harper Nichols

We know not what the future holds, but we do know who holds the future.

~Willis J. Ray~

Our actions should be in concert with our prayers—we should pray to find happiness in God and then take the kind of actions that will help us find happiness in God

Randy Alcorn

Christian— Your dark past is nothing compared to your bright future!

Phil. 3:13-14 “FORGETTING what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the UPWARD CALL of God in Christ Jesus”

FORGET YOUR PAST FOCUS ON YOUR FUTURE! Jason Powell

You can't expect God to fix what you won't hand over to Him.

God has wisely kept us in the dark concerning future events and reserved for himself the knowledge of them, that he may train us up in a dependence upon himself and a continued readiness for every event.

~Matthew Henry~

It is but right that our hearts should be on God, when the heart of God is so much on us.

~Richard Baxter~

Jesus, lover of my soul, Let me to Thy bosom fly, While the nearer waters roll, While the tempest still is high. Hide me, O my Savior, hide, Till the storm of life is past; Safe into the haven guide; Oh, receive my soul at last.

Other refuge have I none, Hangs my helpless soul on Thee; Leave, ah! Leave me not alone, Still support and comfort me. All my trust on Thee is stayed, All my help from Thee I bring; Cover my defenseless head With the shadow of Thy wing. -Charles Wesley

Saving faith is confidence in Jesus; a direct confidential transaction with him.

~Richard Fuller~

“In necessary things, unity; in doubtful things, liberty; in all things, charity.”

Augustine
