QUOTE

wanting something is better than having it and satisfaction is the death of desire.... Unless Christ is the reason.

Most of the people I hear talk about there church as if there church is exclusive and it ends with them but we never should loose sight of the church being universal. If we are so caught up on one mans teaching we loose sight of the message giver. God is a Spirit and we worship him in Spirit and in truth. The Spirit is not exclusive to where you attend church but rather who is born of the Spirit.

Today, God is trying to get your attention, but are there "crowds" in your life that are hindering your ability to listen to Him? Maybe these crowds are people, but maybe they are material possessions, or worries, anxieties, or fears that you're holding on to. It's a good idea to take a season out of your life to get away from the crowds and listen to Him. This, of course, doesn't mean to stop fellowshipping with other believers or to stop attending church. No, this is about stepping away from the crowds in your life that are hindering your relationship with Him.

As a Christian, I am acutely aware that Jesus did not come to congratulate me on my good works but to confront me about my sin.

I love this because it gets rid of the why me poor me syndrome. Have rejoicing in your self and don't let the right hand know what the left is doing.

2 Peter 2:9-18

God warns us against misguided desires, because sinful passions can lead to emptiness, suffering, disappointment, pain, and even death. Wise believers let the Father direct their yearnings--and then make changes if necessary. Dr. Charles Stanley

The Bible says that before we know Jesus Christ, we are dead in our transgressions. We inherited a dead spirit from our father Adam. However, when we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, God gives us a new heart and a new spirit that is fully alive. This is resurrection power at its best.

Why did God allow Lazarus to die? He allowed it so His Son could be glorified through it (John 11:4). Why did God allow His own Son to die on the cross? To bring salvation to all who believe?

I know I do, but do you?

Quiters never ever win!!!

We love deeply, sincerely, and sacrificially when there is nothing in it for us. We love sacrificially when we clean the house for our spouse even though we are tired. To love sacrificially is to dry the dishes for our spouse even though we're tired. To love sacrificially is to forgive when we have been hurt over and again. To love sacrificially is to help others when they don’t deserve it. To love sacrificially is to cover the mistakes of others instead of talking about them. Loving sacrificially helps others become free and find a new life in the love of God.

To love sacrificially is to be like God. God is love.

Brotherly love is the badge of Christ’s disciples.

~Matthew Henry~

Jesus said, "Forgive, and you will be forgiven" (Luke 6:37b). Forgiveness is not easy, especially when you have been deeply hurt by someone. But you and I will never forgive anyone as much as Jesus has forgiven us. We will never know the extent of His mercy to "forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9), much less His grace in making us "heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him" (James 2:5). If Jesus can forgive us, we can forgive others.

Today, if someone in your life has caused you pain, let me encourage you to forgive them. Show them the mercy God has shown you. And if you have wronged someone, take the chance to ask forgiveness. May we become people who live to forgive, and who live forgiven.

Wait for His Word

Think about this: There is no separation between God’s Word and God Himself.

He speaks a word ... and it happens. He promises something ... and it occurs. Why? Because He IS the Word. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God. He is the Word fulfilled. No wonder Christians venerate the Bible. Living in His Word is living in the Holy Spirit. This is a mystery, but reality.

How and when it becomes evident in our little world is up to His perfect timing, but rest assured -- His promises have already been fulfilled. That is His nature. A mystery indeed.

We simply (simply, not easily) must wait on Him. On His perfect timing. We didn’t say sit still and do nothing. Waiting on Him is an attitude of the heart, not passive inactivity. It’s not always clear to our limited sight when we should take action or when we should rest. what's best sometimes is, when in doubt, don't.

Then go seek Him, the Word -- and His Word.

We need never worry about being left behind. Paul said in Philippians 1:6, "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." God always completes the work He starts. He never gives up. Isn't that great news? So don't worry. Our future glorification has God's guarantee upon it -- for both you and me.

Money is a great slave but a horrible master~ Daymond John

To sin is to state, “God, I do not want you to be my king. Sin shouts, “I want to run my own life, thank you very much!” Sin is insurrection of the highest order, and you are an insurrectionist. So am I. But. . .oh that wonderful word. . .but, “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Christ died to set the insurrectionist—you and me—free.

The Bible will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from the Bible.”

~D.L Moody~

Know the comfort that comes from belief in Jesus and His resurrection power.

Sometimes people will say, “All we can do now is pray.” We need to remember, prayer should never be our last resort. It should always be our first line of offen…

Often your passion will come after you respond to God’s call, saying “yes” even when you feel uncertain or resistant. The point is not what you feel, but how you act in response to God your caller.

We owe God every honor that is in our power to give Him. Our everlasting grief lies in giving Him anything less.

If you are a believer and still breathing, God has work He desires to accomplish through you. Faith looks forward to what God will do in the future.

The Levites’ most precious inheritance was “the Lord, the God of Israel.” New Testament believers are a “holy” and “royal priesthood,” a community of believers bound together in belonging to the Lord. As we serve God sacrificially, we learn He sustains us and gives us joy. The Lord is our inheritance now and forever. The world’s ways of power and joy will fail.

When we believe in Jesus Christ, God brings us into a new land, with new resources – prayer; power to resist sin; knowledge that God is present at the darkest time. God gives us all we need for a godly life – His Spirit, His Word, His precious promises. All God’s promises are “yes” in Christ. As God warned the Israelites, He warns us: act on His promises. As we take hold of what we possess in Christ, God frees us to flourish.

“There is no pleading with God like reminding Him of His Covenant! Get a hold of a promise of God, and you may pray with great boldness, for the Lord will not run back from His own Word.”

As Jesus would trust in the Father, He would also be prepared for the mounting difficulties that He would face. "I gave My back to those who struck Me, and My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting." In approaching the cross, these prophecies of Jesus (and the enablement He found through depending upon the Father) were fulfilled. "Then they spat in His face and beat Him, and others struck Him with the palms of their hands" (Matthew 26:67).

The curse is upon those who attempt to establish an acceptable relationship with God based on human works, as measured by God's holy law.

While there are some who erringly teach that when the church has dominion over the world Jesus will come back, what the Bible actually says is that Jesus coming back is when the saints will rule and reign with Him as kings and priests to God. Until then, we live in a messed up, mixed-up world where evil is called good and good is called evil.

Every one of us believers can live the message of the Gospel in our lives. We don’t have to be a pastor or theology professors to share the Word of God and His love with those around us.

Since no man is excluded from calling upon God the gate of salvation is open to all. There is nothing else to hinder us from entering, but our own beliefs.

~John Calvin~

Your works will be tried by the fire. If they are completely burnt up, as hay or stubble would be in the fire, then even though you have no reward for any of your works, your salvation is still a free gift to you:

Once we are saved, our good works become evident. As we grow in Christ, fruitful good deeds flow naturally as a part of our Christian faith. There is a perfect balance between our faith and works. Works show evidence of our salvation.

We can’t escape disappointments and hurt, even devastation that turns everything we held dear to dust. But, we can remember that we can trust God to make something beautiful out of that dust. We can choose His will over our own.

God’s promises are longer than life, broader than sin, deeper than the grave, and higher than the clouds.

Charles H. Spurgeon

Faith is the reverse of sight. It is to believe that we are saved when sin tells us that we are lost.

Charles Spurgeon

Reasons believers should praise God from Psalm 107:

1. His love endures forever (v. 1). 2. He redeems from enemies (v. 2). 3. He gathers His people (v. 3). 4. He delivers from distress (v. 6). 5. He satisfies the soul (v. 9). 6. He delivers from death (v. 14).

Non-Christians LOVE to tell Christians how to be Christians while also getting HYPER UPSET when Christians act like Christians.
