Never Forget God is in You

The Lord of hosts is with us.

Psalm 46:11

What is the hardest part of being alone? For some, it is the inner critic – that voice in your mind narrating things that were said or done in the past while holding them up to an ideal of perfection. No one enjoys that. But what if being alone could actually be a blessing instead?

In Genesis, God sees His ultimate creation, the man, alone and knows something the human does not… life is better when lived in a relationship! God, within the trinity of Himself, Father, Son, and Spirit, lives in perfect union and companionship. And He wants that for humans also. You will not meet a person today, regardless of the trials of life, that does not hope somehow to be known and understood.

The sweet gift of grace through Jesus Christ replaces that critical inner judge with a loving Friend and Comforter. Quiet moments no longer mean being raked over the coals but rather becomes an interesting conversation between loved ones! Ironically, a healthy spiritual inner life is cultivated by spending time alone with God, reading His Word, and talking to Him in prayer. In that space, you will discover the treasure of knowing that in every circumstance you will ever navigate you are seen, you are known, and you are loved!

Give thanks to God for His abiding Spirit and acknowledge the gift of His presence with you!
