Marvel at the vastness of what your Creator has brought into being

Who has spoken and it came to pass unless the Lord has commanded it? – Lamentations 3:37

Scientists estimate there are ten billion trillion stars in the universe or about as many stars as there are grains of sand on all of Earth’s seashores. If all the stars were divided equally among the people of the world, each person would receive almost two trillion stars.

As the dominant light of the Earth’s solar system, the sun gives off far more energy in one second than all humankind has produced since Creation. With a diameter of approximately 860,000 miles, the sun could hold one million planets the size of Earth. Yet it is only an average-size star and is just one among 100 billion in the galaxy, the Milky Way. The Pistol Star gives off 10 million times the power generated by the sun and one million stars the size of the sun can fit easily within its sphere. It takes 100,000 light-years to travel from one side of the Milky Way to the other. If the Milky Way galaxy were likened to the size of the North American continent, our solar system would be about the size of a coffee cup!

Isaiah 40:26 says, “Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling them all by name; by the greatness of his might and because he is strong in power, not one is missing.”

When you gaze up into the heavens, marvel at the vastness of what your Creator has brought into being. And each day commits to letting your life speak as a shining testimony of God’s majesty.
