In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. – Genesis 1:1
Did you ever see the wonder of a starry night sky away from city lights? Have you ever seen the fantastic images from the Hubble telescope? Have you seen odd creatures at the bottom of the ocean? Or explored the flora and fauna of an old forest? Or have you watched a sunset among the saguaro cacti? Have you considered the miracle of the human body and how it functions? If so, you might have touched the edge of what it would be like standing in God’s glory.
Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God.” Romans 1:20 says, “For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.” Psalm 139:14 says, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 8:3-4 says, “When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him?”
It’s awesome to think that compared to the size of the universe humans are like an amoeba, but God loved the people of the world so much He sent Jesus as a sacrifice for sin. Take some time this week to go out in nature and ask God to reveal Himself to You.
