“I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the Lord".

No purpose of yours can be thwarted. – Job 42:2

Have you ever watched a painter daubing paint on a canvas and wondered what the strokes were ultimately going to represent? As the creation neared completion, did you notice the image or landscape suddenly appear out of what seemed a confusing or chaotic amalgamation of colors? The artist paints with a vision in mind that will be revealed after all the hues and contrasts have had their finishing touches.

It’s easy to observe world events and assume the dark deeds of those bringing harm to humanity are well outside of God’s purposes. But God’s Word says something different: “I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the Lord, who does all these things” (Isaiah 45:7).

Both the good and the bad you see in the world have a specific place in God’s plan. And every book of the Bible affirms the purpose of God’s work… to reveal Himself to all living creatures as the Author of life, light, and love. A compassionate Creator, Father, God, worthy of worship.

The fact that the world and all its brokenness is in God’s purpose and control is far from disturbing, it is amazingly hopeful! God is in the process of rescuing every willing human being and bringing restoration to Earth through Jesus Christ, right before your eyes!

Today, humble your heart before God and acknowledge that His ways are not your ways but His plans are the path to salvation for mankind.
