Mid-tribbers and Post-tribbers: DON'T GET CONFUSED! Jesus revealed to Daniel and later to John WHAT would trigger the tribulation and HOW many days it would last! If the rapture were in the middle of the tribulation or at the end, there would be no guessing or uncertainty about it, just a simple math calculation! He says WATCH because He is coming BEFORE the tribulation BEGINS!

HOW LONG IS THE TRIBULATION?
First, this period is all about God dealing with Israel exclusively—not the Church. Here's how everything starts:
Daniel 9:
🙏🏼Daniel is seeking the Lord with all his heart in prayer and supplication, seeking understanding of the prophecy of Jeremiah regarding the seventy years of desolation. These seventy years were established by God for Israel, and ⚠️this decree remains unchanged to this day — God hasn't changed His mind about it. ⚠️
🙌🏼Daniel is humbling himself confessing the sin of Israel, acknowledging their rebellion and their wickedness, pleading for God's mercy, and asking Him to turn away His anger and wrath from Jerusalem. While Daniel is still praying, the angel Gabriel arrives. Gabriel informs Daniel that his prayer has been heard and that he has come to give him insight and understanding.
👉🏼Gabriel explains the "Seventy Weeks" prophecy. He outlines a timeline of seventy "weeks", or seventy sets of seven years, totaling 490 years.
👉🏼The prophecy is divided into three parts: seven weeks, sixty-two weeks, and one week. The first 69 weeks (seven weeks and sixty-two weeks) will lead up to the coming of the Messiah —Jesus— and anticipates the coming of the Antichrist.
📖“And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary."
1️⃣The first 7 weeks (49 years) have already been fulfilled. This period began with the decree by Artaxerxes to rebuild Jerusalem. FULFILLED!
2️⃣The second part, 62 weeks (434 years): This period ended with the "Messiah being cut off", a prophecy fulfilled during Jesus' triumphant entry on Palm Sunday. FULFILLED!
3️⃣ The final week (the seventieth week) has yet to be fulfilled and will involve a covenant made by a future ruler (the Antichrist). This covenant will be broken in the middle of the week, leading to the abomination that causes desolation. WAITING👇🏼
📖"Then he (Antichrist) shall confirm a covenant with many for one week, but in the middle of the week, He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, even until the consummation, which is determined, is poured out on the desolate." Dan 9:27
📑That week marks the 7-year tribulation period, completing the 70 weeks during which God deals specifically with Israel—NOT the Church.
🔊The tribulation lasts for 7 years, using a "prophetic year" of 360 days, totaling 2,520 days.
WHAT WILL TRIGGER THE TRIBULATION?
We just read in Daniel 9:27 that the covenant the Antichrist will make with "many"—a peace treaty he will sign with Israel—is what marks the beginning of the 70th week.
📖"Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week" (One week meaning 7 years)
👉🏼Now Jesus, points to Daniel when He's talking about the Great Tribulation (the last half of the tribulation) in Matthew 24 by saying:
📖 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand) then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains...For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be." Matt 24:16-21
👉🏼We know here he's talking about the midpoint of the tribulation when the Antichrist will sit in the temple and proclaim himself as God—that is the abomination of desolation. Israel will realize that the Antichrist is not the Messiah, leading to intense persecution and prompting many to flee.
👉🏼Now, Jesus reveals 1,260 days and 42 months in the Book of Revelation. He gives us the numbers for half of the tribulation (Great Tribulation) that perfectly align with the numbers in Daniel being 7 years. 42 months and 1,260 days both equal 3 1/2 years, which is half of the seven-year Tribulation period.
📖"And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth." Rev 11:3 (First half of the tribulation)
📖"Then the woman (Israel) fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one 1,260 days. (Second Half)
📖"But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for 42 months." Rev 13:5 (Second Half)
📖"And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for 42 months" Rec 13:5 (Second Half)
("Continue" 👆🏼here meaning he has held authority previously.)
🔊For MID-TRIBBERS: Putting Daniel and Revelation together, we know that from the moment the Antichrist signs his covenant with Israel, there will be 1,260 days until he seats himself on the throne. If you are a mid-tribulation believer, you can set your clock without any uncertainty!
🔊For POST-TRIBBERS: We also know that there are another 1,260 days between the abomination of desolation and the second coming of Christ, which marks the end of the tribulation. Again, If you are a post-tribulation believer, you can set your clock without any uncertainty!
🔊The only reason God tells us to WATCH is because we don't know when He's coming, and the only time that this UNCERTAINTY makes sense is if the rapture happens BEFORE the tribulation begins! IT'S THE ONLY UNCERTAIN TIME AND THE ONLY BIBLICAL POSSIBILITY!
Jesus says:
📖"Watch, therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore, you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect." Matt 24
🔊MID TRIBBERS AND POST TRIBBERS: TURN AROUND! The tribulation is for Israel, God's decree proclaimed by the prophet Jeremiah remains unchanged to this day! It will start when the Antichrist signs the covenant with Israel and it will last 7 years —two halves of 1,260 days!! Don't be deceived by the enemy! The Church doesn't go through the tribulation, neither halfway nor in its entirety! ⚠️
