Armageddon!

On that day, the Lord will descend from heaven, followed by His army (God's people), to destroy the armies of the enemy in the winepress of His fury!

Our days of weakness are numbered. We'll be mighty warriors, strong and invincible! He will give us the final victory! We're coming back with Jesus at the end of the 7-year tribulation, not only to make Him company - but to fight in the battle of Armageddon!

When we read Joel 2, we find the description of the army that is coming during Armageddon.

Strong: They will be strong like no one has seen ever before or will ever see again. 2 "People come, great and strong, The like of whom has never been"Destructive: They will have the capability to wipe everything clean in their path. 3 "A fire devours before them, And behind them a flame burns; The land is like the Garden of Eden before them, And behind them a desolate wilderness; Surely nothing shall escape them" Fast: They will be fast as horses. Generally, horses can reach an average speed of around 25 to 30 miles per hour. 4 "And like swift steeds, so they run" Leap High: In Israel, the highest mountain is Mount Meron, reaching an elevation of 3,963 feet. Some mountains in Israel may be relatively tall others may be smaller hills. 5"Over mountaintops they leap" Intimidating: They will instill profound distress and despair among those who encounter it. 6"Before them the people writhe in pain; All faces are drained of color"Organized seasoned warriors: They will be an incredibly organized force that is well-prepared for battle. Climbing walls, marching in formation, not breaking ranks, not pushing one another, not breaking form. 7-8"They climb the wall like men of war; Everyone marches in formation, And they do not break ranks. They do not push one another; Everyone marches in his own column" Invincible: They will be an army with exceptional skills, agility, and resilience in the face of danger, enabling us to maneuver through the chaos of battle while avoiding harm. No arm will wound us. 8 "Though they lunge between the weapons, They are not cut down" Powerful: They will hold immense power and we'll command the attention of both the earthly and celestial realms. 10"The earthquakes before them, The heavens tremble; The sun and moon grow dark, And the stars diminish their brightness" The Lord is their commander: They will "execute" His words. We will be the sword coming out of His mouth. 11"The Lord gives voice before His army, For His camp is very great; For strong is the One who executes His word"

In Psalm 18 David sees himself empowered by God, running against a troop, leaping over a wall, and running as a deer. God teaches him to wage war, and he sees his arms able to bend a bow of bronze. His enemies are filled with fear and seek shelter in hiding places.

We can see the striking resemblance between Psalm 18 and Joel 2, where the same actions are carried out on a larger scale.

29" For by You I can run against a troop, By my God I can leap over a wall" 33" He makes my feet like the feet of deer, He makes my feet like the feet of deer, And sets me on my high places"34 "He teaches my hands to make war so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze" 37 "I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them; Neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed" 42 "Then I beat them as fine as the dust before the wind; I cast them out like dirt in the streets"45"The foreigners fade away, And come frightened from their hideouts"50"Great deliverance He gives to His king, and shows mercy to His anointed, to David and his descendants forevermore"

We will be coming along with David and all of God's people from all generations for the final battle. He will give us the ultimate victory over our enemies!

Why wouldn't He? Since the beginning, He has used His people: judges, prophets, kings, priests, apostles, and His Church. We will all come back, and we will be the sword of His mouth to execute His command! We are the body of Christ!
