Part of what I do as a pastor is fill in the gaps, if they need
ushers I serve there if they need teachers to teach in the
children’s ministry I am there. If counseling is needed I do it
and last Sunday I was serving in the children’s ministry in the
kindergarten room. It is one of my favorite places to be.
My lesson to the children was on Adam and Eve.
At the end of the class, the parents were picking up their
children and a little girl says to her mom, Mom I don’t want
No more apples.
Her mom said why?
The little girl said because every time someone eats an
apple something happens to them.
The mom was curious and said what do you mean? The little
girl said the lady was naked and given an apple by the snake
and she was ashamed of herself and Snow White ate the
apple and could not wake up.
By now I am laughing and the mom looked at me with
concern so I said our lesson was on Adam and Eve and the
mom said oh.
She then told her daughter we will go over it at home.
Consequences!
Every choice has a positive or negative reaction.
The Children Of Israel was in the wilderness for 40 years.
From Egypt to the promised land was an 8-day journey but it
took 40 years.
There was so much sin in there life God had to keep them
there for there growth. They made ideals and complained all
the time. Everything they were told to do they did the
opposite.
When God would be angry with them they often went to
Moses and asked him to repent on their behalf and then God
would forgive them.
Moses got to a point where he got so frustrated The Children
Of Israel wanted water and in Numbers 20:6 Moses and
Aaron went before the Lord and fell on there faces and God
told them to take his rod and go before the whole
congregation and to speak to the rock and the water will
come forth for them to drink and their animals.
So Moses took the rod from before the Lord and gathered
the whole congregation together. And Moses was upset at
them so he calls them rebels but in verse 11 Moses hit the
rock twice and water came forth and the Children Of Israel
and all the animals drank from it.
Now Moses was not able to enter the promised land
because of his sin. Children Of Israel would die in the
wilderness all that were adults. Adam and Eve were kicked
out of the garden.
Heb.13:8 says Jesus Christ is the same yesterday,
today, and forever.
We all sin and fall short of God’s glory but we have Jesus
Christ who died at Calvary for our sins.
The blood of Jesus does not give us free passage to sin but
because of it, we have an advocate with the father.
The bible says in
1Jo 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so
that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an
Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
God sees all and knows all you can not hide so let us be
obedient and all walk by faith and grow together.
